Garbine Muguruza insists she will stay grounded and continue to work hard after winning the Wimbledon title on Saturday.
The 23-year-old downed Venus Williams in straight sets, winning nine games in a row, to seal a 7-5 6-0 success at the All England Club.
It was the Spaniard's second Grand Slam success after she beat Serena Williams in the final of the 2016 French Open.
That Roland Garros triumph was supposed to be the springboard to many more titles. But before lifting the famous gold plate at SW19 she had failed to return to a final since winning in Paris.
The Venezuelan-born ace is now determined to push on and will use the disappointment of her 17-month barren period as motivation for the future.
"Hopefully it's going to help me," she told CNN. "I learned that it's very hard to have the expectation to play like that every week because then comes the frustration.
"I've got to be humble and accept that the level I showed here is very hard to get. I have to work to get it and not expect to have it."
