Castleford's Zak Hardaker says his side are in a "great position" but warned they have not achieved anything yet.

The Tigers are eight points clear of nearest rivals Leeds Rhinos with just two regular season games to go in Super League.

Castleford are well placed for a serious tilt at the Grand Final, but Hardaker - a three-time Super League winner with Leeds - says they cannot afford to take anything for granted ahead of the Super 8s stage.

Hardaker initially joined the Tigers on loan from the Rhinos but has now become a permanent fixture on a four-year deal and he feels the club can continue to progress and improve irrespective of what happens in the remainder of the current campaign.

“We’re in a great position but nothing has changed,” he told The Guardian. “We’re signing players on long-term deals, the board’s given us their full backing and everything’s set for good things to happen here for a long time. There’s more to come from me too – all in all, this is the right place for me.”
