What is oily skin?

The oily skin is manifested by a skin that shines, pimples that appear, black dots that arise, dilated pores and irregular reliefs.
The zone T which corresponds to the forehead, nose and chin is generally the most affected : the skin there is brighter than on the rest of the face.
Result: the complexion is dull and blurred.

Seborrhea, in other words excess sebum in the skin , is the main cause of oily skin.

Normal sebum is secreted just enough to make the skin soft, lubricated, supple, protected against moisture and dryness by retaining the water it needs.

While in men the oily skin can disappear around 18/20 years, women, they, are allowed up to about 25 years because of the makeup.

A skin can become oily in the presence of pollution, heat, humidity but also UV rays or hormonal imbalance.

Despite its thick and robust skin appearance , oily skin requires a lot of hygiene, care and vigilance as to the products we apply to it.
In order to avoid superinfection it is preferable to avoid contact with unwashed hands or with hair exposed to dust or pollution.

But good news for those with oily skin: as the skin is thick, it is also less prone to cold and deep wrinkles ... So positive!

Oily skin more or less thick

The thickness of the skin varies from single to double during a lifetime.
Inevitably, as the skin ages , the dermis refines and loses up to 40% of its thickness .
Becoming thinner , the skin is then more fragile.

Please note :
The surface area of the skin of an adult is 2 m². It is the largest organ of the human body but also the heaviest: 3.5 kg on average.
The fine skins allow the light to pass and give a radiant complexion. But, the other side of the coin, they are very fragile. As early as 25-30 years, small fine lines appear around the eyes. Zone of great vulnerability, this part of the face deserves a sustained attention: the skin is four times less thick than elsewhere.
Thick skins are less vulnerable to wrinkles.
Often more dull than fine skins, they often make the complexion a little duller.
