Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on the wanted list of rivals Chelsea, who are plotting a £35million swoop.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is hoping to bring in a number of new faces before the closure of the transfer window at the end of the month and would like to boost the club’s quota of home grown players at the same time.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and reports now claim that Arsenal and Chelsea are locked in talks over a potential £35million deal.
The forward has just under 12 months remaining on his current contract but has yet to pen a new deal, leading to suggestions he wants £150,000 a week, a figure Chelsea would also be willing to match.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that Oxlade-Chamberlain is not for sale and would be prepared to let him run down his contract and leave for free next year if a new deal cannot be agreed.
However Chelsea could be about to test his resolve by launching the bid in the hope of securing a deal before August 31, while Liverpool and Manchester City are also keen.
