Castleford Tigers boss Daryl Powell has warned his side to not take Wakefield too lightly when they face off on Thursday night.

The Tigers will make history if they avoid defeat to their near neighbours at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle by securing the League Leaders' Shield for the first time in their history, while they will also guarantee themselves a home draw for the play-off semi-finals at the end of the season.

Powell is aware though that Trinity would like nothing better than to spoil the party and, after they hammered Leeds last week, believes they are a force to be reckoned with.

Powell said: “Wakefield will come here supremely motivated with no fear at all, and why should they have any?

“They nearly beat us a few weeks back at their place, and they will want to get after us.

“It’s a tough challenge but we also know that when we play well then we’re very difficult to deal with.”
