Tommy Fleetwood admits he is feeling refreshed as he bids to mount a serious challenge at this week's Omega European Masters.

The Englishman has not played competitively since last month's PGA Championship, choosing instead to take a rest after a busy-but-successful season to date.

The 26-year-old has won two European Tour titles already this year, most recently at the Open de France in July, while his consistent displays have also moved him to the top of the Race to Dubai standings and into the top 20 of the world rankings.

Fleetwood will return to action during this week's tournament in Switzerland and admits he is feeling refreshed following his break although he knows there are no guarantees he will hit the ground running at Crans-sur-Sierre.

"It's been great. I'm enjoying being back, I feel like I'm hitting it quite good. Three weeks off is not that long a time but in terms of how much time we get off a year, it is. We'll see how it goes," he said.

"It's never physical fitness that gets to anybody but it's mental tiredness playing week in, week out, so it's nice when you can turn up to tournaments feeling as fresh as you can after a rest."

The Omega European Masters is an event that holds fond memories for Fleetwood as he has twice finished in the top 10 and admits he always enjoys playing at the picturesque course.

He added: "It's a great course, a great test, I've enjoyed my time playing here, I've had good weeks and the odd dodgy one where the course has got the better of me but every time you play it, it's always enjoyable."
