Adam Scott has announced he will not have Steve Williams caddy for him at the US PGA Championship as he attempts to shake up his year.
The Australian has yet to pick up a win this season, the last of his 13 professional triumphs coming back in March 2016, and has now decided to try something different in the hope it could spark some life in to his campaign.
Williams, who caddied for 13 of Tiger Woods' 14 major triumphs, has worked with the world No.17 since 2011, playing a key role in helping Scott break his major duck when they captured the 2013 Masters title.
Scott has also risen to the top of the rankings with Williams on the bag but it will be part-time caddy David Clark handing the 37-year-old the clubs for the next two events, this week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the US PGA Championship.
"Clarkey is caddying next week. He hasn't caddied for me for 15 weeks so he needed to come out here," Scott told AAP.
"He's only caddied five times for me this year. It's very difficult; you have to balance two caddies."
It will be only the second time Williams has not been Scott's bagman for a major since the duo struck up a partnership, the 53-year-old missing the 2015 Masters after he decided to retire before being persuaded back work on a part-time basis.
