Sir Rod Stewart charmed other diners at Catch LA restaurant as he celebrated his son Sean's 37th birthday on Friday (01.09.17).

The 72-year-old singer-songwriter joined his son, his ex-wife Alana and some family friends as they marked Sean's big day at the upmarket eatery in Los Angeles.

An eyewitness said Sir Rod greeted rap star Wiz Khalifa as he "took a few laps around the restaurant to graciously greet other diners".

And the 'Maggie May' hitmaker - who is married to Penny Lancaster, who wasn't at the birthday bash - also found the time to charm the hostesses as he left the restaurant.

The insider told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "He stopped to say how beautiful the hostesses were."

In June, Sir Rod and Penny renewed their wedding vows during an intimate ceremony in the grounds of their 18th-century home in Essex, South-East England.

And Penny - who first married Sir Rod in 2007 - admitted the experience of renewing their vows in front of around 100 family and friends was "special".

She shared: "Being able to reflect on those ten years, and say those words to one another and still know we mean them is important. This felt more special.

"You get married with the hope that you'll be together; when we renewed our vows, we said them not with just hope, but with a reassurance. Along with hope, there is also faith, love and bringing all the family together."

Meanwhile, Sir Rod - who has two sons, Alastair, 11, and Aiden, six, with his wife - admitted he loves the English model "more than ever".

He said: "Penny is my whole world.

"Love means many things to many people but to me it's wanting to share everything with the one you love and I love Penny now more than ever, if that is at all possible."
