Pape Souare says he is "feeling blessed" after taking part in full training with Crystal Palace for the first time in nearly a year.
Senegal international Souare, who joined the Premier League club in 2015 from Lille, suffered a broken thighbone and a broken jaw after being involved in a car crash on the M4 motorway in September 2016.
The 27-year-old left-back has been working hard in his recovery to be fit for the start of the 2017/18 season and he managed to take part in full training with the first team on Wednesday.
Saturday's league opener at home to Huddersfield Town is expected to come too early for the defender but he is feeling buoyed after being able to join his senior team-mates once again.
"Feeling blessed to come back for my first training session with the first team," he tweeted. "I want to say thank you to all of you for your love and support on this journey! I read every message and hope to make you all happy soon."
Souare could be back in time for the away trip to Liverpool on August 19, whilst the home encounter against Swansea City a week later could also be a potential comeback date.
