Tottenham have reportedly agreed a club-record £40million deal to sign defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been heavily linked with a swoop for the 21-year-old Colombia international as he bids to bolster his central defensive options this season.
And Sanchez has been high on his wanted list after he enjoyed a successful debut season in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring six goals in 43 appearances and securing Ajax's player of the year award, following his move from Atletico Nacional last summer.
Ajax were looking to secure around £46m for Sanchez's signature, while Spurs' previous bid was around £36m.
However, reports late on Thursday suggested the two clubs have met somewhere in the middle and the player looks set to move to north London in the coming days where he will become Pochettino's first signing in the window.
Sanchez will fight it out with the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and the versatile Eric Dier for a place in the centre of Spurs' defence, while his arrival would almost certainly see Kevin Wimmer depart for pastures new.
