Dundee United are braced for further Southampton interest in their teenage left-back Jamie Robson after rebuffing an offer this week.

Saints scouts have been monitoring the 19-year-old, who has been a regular for the Scottish Championship side this season, since December.

And, according to the Dundee Courier, an offer was made in the days leading up to the transfer deadline, but the Tangerines were not interested.

Saints previously took youngster Kieran Freeman from the Tannadice ranks and were hoping to do the same with Robson.

The relationship between the two clubs is a good one, with Harry Lewis and Archie Thomas both heading in the opposite direction from the south coast.

Robson’s contract runs out in 2018 and the Tayside club are expecting Saints to return with an offer for Robson in the future.
