The setting: Equestrian City situated just outside Paris, Chantilly and its stables welcomed Friday evening in the pouring rain, the show Dior Cruise 2019 architectural grandeur of the 18th century commissioned by the Bourbon dynasty, the place houses a dressage arena circular moulted, the time of an evening, set parade.

Inspiration : Called Diorodeo , the name of the show immediately set the tone: the show will be inspired by the horse world. The show will begin with the entry on the magisterial track of 8 escaramuzas , Mexican amazons with atypical folk costumes and a feminist aura. The only participants in the charreada , an equestrian competition historically reserved for men, they embody in Central America the symbol of a certain emancipation of women without neglecting their delicate lace and imposing traditional petticoats. A duality that was inspired by Maria Grazia Chiuri , the artistic director of the house, today known for its collections of militant inflection.



The collection: Theme forces, toile and leather harness punctuated these riders silhouettes dominated by large sophisticated skirts, signature Maria Grazia Chiuri and Bar jackets, iconic pieces of Dior at the ultra-marked size . We also see silhouettes with equestrian inspiration more literal, mixing pants suits , caps "bombs" and long leather boots . Star piece of the Dior leather goods, the saddle bag is here the object of new interpretations in point named. And because Chantilly is also the cradle of the eponymous lace, the delicate fiber historically built with a spindle has not failed to embellish this new collection cruising, speaking in scholarly details or, in all-over, on sparkling tops next to bustier or leather ranger. A strong, uncompromising woman's look, of which Maria Grazia Chiuri drew the essence from the work of the Chilean writer Isabel Allende, "The House of Spirits".

The guests : If the podium were the fashion models, including Ruth Bell, the face of the house, front row saw Isabelle Adjani, Chiara Ferragni or the couple stars of Stranger Things , Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton.

The after show : If the parade was held in the Grandes Ecuries, it was in the Château de Chantilly itself that the after-party took place in a most bucolic setting, mixing show mannequins, prestigious guests and it-girls of passage.
