Wakefield coach Chris Chester has added to his squad for next season by signing Newcastle Knights hooker Tyler Randell.

It will be the 24-year-old's first expericance of the game away from Australia because he has spent all of his time with Newcastle in the NRL since making his debut in 2014.

Trinity head coach Chester has landed him on a two-year deal, starting from the beginning of next season, and he is happy to land his man in a position they needed to strengthen.

"His position is one that we identified at the start of the season that we did not have a great deal of depth," said Chester.?

"By bringing in Tyler, it will bring in a genuine competition and add quality to what is already a strong squad."
