Kyle Walker-Peters has signed a new contract at Tottenham until 2020 following his impressive debut for the club last weekend.

The 20-year-old stepped in to make his full Premier League debut on the opening weekend against Newcastle, following the sale of Kyle Walker to Manchester City and an injury to Kieran Trippier.

He performed admirably and has been rewarded with an extension to his contract, despite the fact Trippier was restored to the starting line-up against Chelsea on Sunday.

The defender is highly regarded by the Lilywhites and was part of the triumphant England under-20 side that won the World Cup during the summer.

Walker-Peters joined the club's academy in 2013 and has been a regular at under-23 level, knocking on the door for a first team call-up.

He tweeted "Buzzing to have signed a new deal with Spurs. Can't wait to see what the future holds. See you all soon."
