A new facial and body care

This is a first for Thalgo . The specialist brand of cosmetics and food supplements from the sea offers in May 2106 a facial and body care. A first, because if his spa care card already had facial care or body care, the two were not previously associated. With Escale in Maupiti, Thalgo wanted to combine the two for a total relaxation since often the relaxation of the body begins only when the "head" coward also takes . "The care is initiated by maneuvers signing letting go, at the base of the cervical cradle of the mind and tensions, to allow the body to access a total receptivity", explains one so at Thalgo.

How is this Polynesian massage revisited?

The Maupiti ritual takes place in three stages.

- Step 1: the scrub (30 min). The spa therapist makes fairly wide circular movements, with a sea ​​salt granite to remove dead skin cells and make it more receptive to the care that will follow.

- Step 2: the dreaming face care of the islands (45 min). After a spraying of marine water (Invigorating Spray, charged with negative ions), the spa therapist connects maneuvers on the face. A scrub, a signature massage (specially created for the occasion), a mask and, finally, a moisturizing treatment: it comes out with a supple and soothing skin . But the main interest of this facial care lies mainly in its ability to relax : the cervical, trapezius, and neck are massaged. The movements come to untie the tensions. "Thus, the face is receptive to the detoxifying cellular awakening that activates the elimination of toxins by vertically smoothing movements from the median zone to the temples," explains Isabelle Guichon, in charge of scientific communication at Thalgo.

- Step 3: the Coeur des Lagons body ritual (45 min) . Totally relaxed by the first massage, we are ready to receive one of the body. It begins with an immersion of plantar arches in a hot oshibori, as if one walked on the hot sand of this distant island that is Maupiti. Everything is in the sensory detail: the fragrance of the Tiare flower, the sound of the surf ... Then begins the massage itself. It is clearly inspired by the traditional Polynesian massage, Taurumi . Long movements in fans, in smoothing, in spikes or in sculpting according to the zones worked and which act on the energetic plan but also to drain and detoxify heavy fabrics.

Our opinion on Maupiti skincare

Two hours of absolute relaxation, where the spa-therapist accompanies us constantly: when the mask poses, she takes care of our hands. The perfumes of care are successful: present without inconvenience. Only micro-flat: the face mask with the foam texture is too cold after modeling that activates the natural heat. If this allows the skin not to blush, we feel a small heat shock that breaks a little letting go but apparently this feeling is very individual and not felt by all.
