Reading boss Jaap Stam described new signing Leandro Bacuna as just the type of player he wants at the club.
Curacao international Bacuna, 25, has signed a four-year deal with the Royals and could make his debut against his former club Aston Villa on Tuesday.
"Leandro is a player that we have been following for a while - he has played Premier League football and brings quality to us," Stam told the club's official website.
"He is the type of player who can play in several positions in the team - in midfield, at the back, or even sometimes as a winger.
"He is a player with the right mentality and who wants to go forward. These are the types of players that we want to have."
Bacuna started out at Dutch club Groningen and after joining Villa in a B£3million deal in the summer of 2013, made a total of 131 appearances, scoring eight goals.
