In 2017, J'aime Lire celebrates its 40th birthday . So many years in which the little red magazine has been at the service of young readers. The recipe for success ? Every month, a novel adapted to young audiences, cultural information chosen just for its age, smart games, comics and mirror heroes that look like it! And by playing the bedside books of the youngest for 4 decades, I like Reading has necessarily gathered valuable advice on their tastes. For those who have not yet succumbed, I like reading book 5 tips to make children want to read .
Tip # 1: Take your time
Set the goal of 10 minutes of reading a day? It may sound like a good idea, though. By setting this timing limit we put a little pressure on the youngest : nothing worse than having to stop in the middle of a chapter. Better to take the time to land in a quiet place ... but not necessarily alone. We can share the break reading side by side, each devouring his book, for his part.
Tip # 2: vary the pleasures
To trigger the taste of reading, you must know how to find pleasure. And 'force' the youngest to chaining novels, is not the right strategy. Instead, we vary the media: comics, documentary books, magazines ... Contrary to popular belief, comics also have good!
Tip # 3: Team up
He is a little reticent about a novel? It may be that the volume or the tight lines intimidate him. Instead of letting him go alone, recluse in his room , we do not hesitate to read with him the first chapters to reassure him. Once he hooks on the story, it will be easier to continue reading alone.
Tip # 4: Have fun
He is allowed to choose his own books. Obviously we can make suggestions but we do not choose his books for him: nothing worse to kill a rising love for reading!
Tip # 5: Go on an adventure
The let choose, precisely, is also offering him the opportunity to be attracted by any book. To do so, we take him to a library or bookstore and even to the corner "press and books" of the supermarket. We let him move towards the readings that attracts him and choose his characters ... Nothing like to inspire in him the desire to read!
