Nutraceuticals of animal origin
The most effective nutraceuticals that come from animals are fatty acids. They are very present in fatty fish, such as tuna, salmon, sardines, mackerel or herring. These fatty acids are essential for the cell membrane, particularly that of the eye and the brain. Fatty acids also have a beneficial effect on heart health, rheumatism, osteoarthritis, cancer, psoriasis or Crohn's disease. They reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems and balance cholesterol levels. Probiotics are other types of nutraceuticals. These are microorganisms that are found in particular in dairy products such as yogurts, and which promote good digestion.

Nutraceuticals of plant origin
There are many nutraceuticals extracted from plants. Cranberry is excellent for preventing urinary tract infections. Garlic can be used to lower blood pressure and therefore ensure good cardiovascular health. Some nuts, as well as cocoa, help control cholesterol levels. And red wine, like grape juice, contains nutraceuticals that are also good for the heart. The consumption of black tea and green tea reduces the risk of cancer.
