Vitamin B1, good for our nervous balance and our brain
Vitamin B1 allows the assimilation of sugars and transforms them into energy. It assimilates and uses proteins and lipids. It has a vital role for the functioning of the nervous system, it helps to calm irritability.
On the cerebral side, it helps to preserve cognitive functions ( memory , attention, language ...). It has an effect on the proper functioning of the cardiac system. It is present in large amounts in the muscles and has an anti-inflammatory role. It allows the oxidation of alcohol difficult to eliminate. It stimulates the appetite. Vitamin B1 is not synthesized by our body, we must draw it from our diet.
It is found primarily in food yeast, whole grains, wheat germ, then eggs, legumes, vegetables, white meats. Tea, coffee , raw fish consumed in large quantities can destroy it.
Avoid vitamin B1 deficiency
Studies indicate that 2/3 of the population lacks vitamin B1. Vitamin B1 deficiency is more common in the elderly, heavy consumers of tea, coffee and alcohol. It causes anorexia , cardiovascular and neurological disorders. It is vitamin B1 deficiency that causes beriberi, a disease that is still present in countries suffering from malnutrition.
