Valtteri Bottas says his focus is on impressing at the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend and not about a new Mercedes contract.

Bottas, who joined the Silver Arrows from Williams this year, has enjoyed a good start to life with the defending constructors' champions and he currently sits third in the Drivers' Championship.

The Finn has picked up victories in Russia and Austria whilst he has finished runner-up in Canada, Azerbaijan and Britain, leaving him 33 points behind Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.

However, despite the impressive performances, the 27-year-old is yet to sign a new contract with Mercedes and there are doubts whether he will be kept on for the 2018 campaign.

Bottas is refusing to let the negotiations affect his mindset and he revealed triumphing at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend is the only thing on his agenda right now.

"For me there is no news yet, and we will tell you the news when there is some," he told reporters. "It doesn't make any big difference. I'm coming into this weekend not thinking about it.

"Like I've said before I'm used to these situations already in the last few years, always the same thing that there is no confirmation about next year so now that we start the race weekend with a practice tomorrow it's not going to be in my mind.

"I'm just focusing on the driving and getting the most out of the weekend, so no pressure from there."
